Hello, my name is Martin Bevers, thank you for visiting my page. This page showcases my skills, qualifications, and gives you a little information about me.
Bio:
I am a Biology Major and Chemistry Minor at the University of North Texas from Baytown, Texas. I enjoy playing lacrosse with the North Texas Lacrosse team. Outside of campus I enjoy fishing, hunting, and canoeing. As you may have figured I like to be physically active, and can usually be found outdoors. I love volunteer work, and it has become a large part of my life. I think being to help people through volunteer organizations such as U.N.I.C.E.F. sparked my interest in medicine. One of my main life goals is to go to medical school to study internal medicine.
Many people see me as a very well-rounded person. I picked up a baseball at the age of six, and played it through high school. I still try to play whenever I can, and play intramural softball at UNT. I still enjoy being active by playing the intramural sports offered at UNT, and by going to the recreational center to exercise. I began taking formal piano lessons from the 2nd grade until senior year of high school. I like to perform piano pieces for people, especially at gatherings around the holidays. While extracurricular activities have always been important to me, my main focus has always been on my education. I know that in order to achieve my higher life goals, I need to prioritize my schoolwork.
I enjoy trying new activities (especially physical activities), even though I may not be necessarily good at them. While I may not be the best at sports, I like to practice and improve my performance. That being said, I believe the most important thing in regard to sports is trying your best and having fun.
Throughout most aspects of my life, a reoccurring theme is teamwork. I believe that people can accomplish tasks more efficiently when they are working together. Whether it is on the baseball field or at a volunteer function I have always liked being part of a team. It allows me to connect with people, make friends, and be a part of something that is bigger than myself.
